AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Texas Comptroller reminded Texas families on Tuesday that the Texas Tuition Promise Fund general enrollment period will end on Feb. 28.
By enrolling before Feb 28, families would be able to lock into today’s cost of undergraduate resident tuition and schoolwide required fees at Texas public colleges and universities, according to the news release.
“I encourage Texas families to start planning now with the Texas Tuition Promise Fund,” Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar said. “It offers flexible plan and payment options that give Texas families the tools they need to plan and provide opportunities for their loved one’s future education. Every little bit counts, and starting now can make a difference.”
The Texas Comptroller said the program allows participants to prepay undergraduate resident tuition and schoolwide required fees at colleges and universities by purchasing tuition units toward a four-year degree, a two-year degree, or just a few classes.
The news release said the enrollment period at 2024-25 prices is extended through July 31 for children younger than one year old. The next general enrollment period will begin on Sept. 1, with contract prices based on the 2025-26 academic year.
Texas families can find plan information and enroll online in the Texas Tuition Promise Fund.
