Crews battle fire at a storage facility in Dallas

The storage unit fire took nearly three hours to put out on Friday morning, officials said.

DALLAS — Dallas firefighters spent nearly three hours putting out a fire at a storage facility off Highway 75 and I-635, officials say.

Dallas Fire Rescue was called to the fire at about 7:08 a.m. in the 13500 block of Goldmark Drive.

Upon arrival, officials say firefighters found heavy smoke coming from one of the units, which they battled for almost three hours before declaring it extinguished around 9:55 a.m.

Officials say it’s unclear if anyone was at the unit when the fire began, but no injuries were reported from it. The damage was contained mostly to the unit where the fire started, but flames did damage to additional units and a nearby vehicle.

The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, officials said.
