Crews battling 500-acre wildfire in Marion County

   

The fire is 50% contained and it’s in the area of FM 2208 and FM 3301

MARION COUNTY, Texas — Firefighters are battling a 500-acre wildfire in Marion County.

According to the Texas A&M Forest Service, the fire is 50% contained. It’s in the area of FM 2208 and FM 3301 in the southern area of Marion County. 

Sean Dugan with the Texas A&M Forest Service said five dozers, three air tankers and two helicopters are on the scene.

Marion County is one of three counties in East Texas currently under a burn ban.

A wind advisory is in place until 10 p.m. Wednesday in Northeast Texas, according to the National Weather Service in Shreveport.
