As I wrote in an earlier Monday article, we’re learning about the mistreatment of Jan. 6 defendants, many of whom have been held in violation of their constitutional rights, and “additional behind-the-scene accounts of just how badly their rights were infringed and continue to be disregarded have surfaced.”
In several respects, the sex-trafficking probe of Florida Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz has been similar.
Investigative reporter Glenn Greenwald — a Democrat, mind you — went OFF on the Democrat Party in a short Twitter thread after federal prosecutors decided to recommend no charges for Gaetz in the exhaustive sex-trafficking probe.
This is a perfect illustration of how authoritarian so many Democrats are.
This Democrat doesn’t know or care why career DOJ prosecutors decided the evidence was insufficient to prosecute Matt Gaetz.
What he knows is that Gaetz supports Trump, and thus wants him imprisoned.
Exactly.
As reported by The Washington Post, career investigators saw credibility challenges for two main witnesses in a probe of the congressman’s alleged past dealings with a then-17-year-old. Senior department officials have not made a final decision on whether to charge Gaetz, but it’s rare for such advice to be rejected.
Greenwald was adamant in his condemnation:
I can’t stress this enough: at its core, Democratic politics is about criminalizing opposition to their party and ideology.
Dissenting ideas are “disinformation” and must be censored by Big Tech. Trump voters are inherently criminal (“insurrectionists”) and should be imprisoned.
Again, exactly.
It long ago became my mantra: the hypocrisy of the left knows no bounds. Democrats have for decades been guilty of the very transgressions and crimes they accuse conservatives of committing, from voter fraud to judicial activism to racism, misogyny, child abuse, and more.
Now, in Joe Biden’s America(TM), as I wrote in an early September article titled, Who’s the Fascist? While Trump Seeks Less Government Power, It’s Biden Who Covets Authoritative Rule, we continue to see example after example of that truth, from the unconstitutional abuse of Jan. 6 defendants to the targeting of Matt Gaetz, simply because he’s an unabashed Trump supporter.
In October 2021, Greenwald and his team produced a video, as he tweeted, “to assemble the mountain of polling data and other quantifiable evidence demonstrating how Democratic Partly loyalists and liberal activists are now classic authoritarians.”
“They are what they accuse others of being,” he wrote.
The Bottom Line
Again, Democrats are the most hypocritical people on the face of the earth.
Even worse, they know it — and they couldn’t care less. Democrats pander and lie to low-information rank-and-file Democrats, most of whom don’t give a damn, either, and everything they support or oppose can be connected to the ballot box with two dots or less. Never forget that.
And as Glenn Greenwald illustrated (as have many of us, countless times), the Democrat politics of personal destruction knows no bounds, either.
