Cruz, Hawley Cut Dems Down to Size on SCOTUS Security Funding Threats in Must-Watch Moments

Ever since the Capitol riot, Republicans have been subjected to non-stop pious lectures from Democrats, their allies in the mainstream press, and on the NeverTrump “right” about how it is undemocratic to allegedly undermine and delegitimize “sacred institutions” in America like the Supreme Court and Congress.

But as Republican members of the Senate Judiciary Committee reminded them this week during a predictable hearing on so-called “Supreme Court ethics reform,” it’s Democrats themselves who are guilty of the worst offenses on this front, which include repeated smear attempts – likely coordinated at high levels – against sitting conservative members of the court like Justices Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch.

For instance, as we previously reported, Sen. John Kennedy (R-La.) brought the fire, particularly against Sen. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and his prior on-the-record threats against conservative Supreme Court Justices:

“You have released the whirlwind,” the Democratic Leader said. Incensed, protestors took to the streets – not outside Congress, not outside the Court. But outside the homes – the homes! – of Justice Roberts, Justice Kavanaugh, Justice Thomas, and Justice Barrett. Federal law prohibits this intimidation. But the Biden Justice Department allowed it.

“You will pay the price,” the Democratic Leader said. In that spirit, angry protesters publicized the location of the school that Justice Barrett’s children attend.

“You won’t know what hit you,” the Democratic Leader said. A man with a gun, ammunition, knife, pepper spray, and zip ties went to a justice’s home to assassinate him. Actually, his stated goal was to murder three justices.

Kennedy wasn’t the only one. Sens. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Ted Cruz (R-Texas) also laid into Democrats over mud-slinging the Justices while also calling out something Dems and the media both would be howling at the moon about if the parties were reversed – the threats from Democrats to cut security funding from the Supreme Court’s budget over their refusal to play games with Dems on the Judiciary Committee.

In the below clip, Hawley points out that Democrats including several from the Judiciary Committee threatened the funding even with the knowledge in mind that there were “credible threats” made against three of the Justices during last summer’s “protests,” with a man being arrested and charged with an assassination attempt on Justice Brett Kavanaugh in an admitted attempt at influencing their decision on whether or not to overturn Roe v. Wade.

Further, Hawley also called out the fact to that to this day no arrests have been made – thanks to directives from Merrick Garland’s DOJ – on any of the “protesters” who continue to target the Justices at their homes despite the fact that such behavior is illegal under U.S. Code.

Watch:

Cruz also gave Democrats a piece of his mind, as we previously touched on. But in a longer clip below, Cruz shined the spotlight on the fact that Democrats are apparently willing to “threaten to lives” of Supreme Court Justices who refuse to give in to the partisan antics of the committee members who are deliberately trying to “delegitimize” the court.

“This is disgraceful,” Cruz went on to say, while noting that “every Senator who signed” on to the letter threatening funding should be “embarrassed” as the media should, he added, over participating in what he said was a modern-day version of Clarence Thomas’ 1991 “high-tech lynching” at the hands of then-Sen. Judiciary Chairman Joe Biden and the rest of the Democrats on the committee at the time.

Watch:

Cruz knows what’s going on here, as do Hawley, Kennedy and most other GOP Senators, and they shouldn’t let the Democrat apologist “fact checkers” like those at the Washington Post stop them from getting the truth out there.

They know that when Democrats can’t win in the arena of ideas, their solution is to destroy the institutions they tell us we must respect in order to “save” them. This is the biggest reason why it’s of paramount importance that Republicans pick a presidential nominee that they know will unapologetically work to shut these movements down in the court of public opinion before they can gain any more traction, and before it’s too late to undo the damage they’ve already done.
