The city’s “Sonic ID” will be a remix of the official 2026 FIFA World Cup theme song, infused with a distinct rhythm, vibe and cultural essence of DFW.
DALLAS — Music is such an integral part of the experience of the FIFA World Cup.
Many soccer fans remember the nostalgia of themes and tunes from World Cup’s past, and the 2026 FIFA World Cup is taking that idea to another level. In celebration of the biggest World Cup in history — featuring more teams and more matches than ever before — FIFA announced Wednesday an initiative that celebrates diversity, creativity and the unifying power of sport through music.
Producers from all over the world have come together to make what are called “Sonic IDs” — audio brands that connect the FIFA World Cup 26 with host cities’ respective communities in a unique and memorable way.
They will roll out over the course of 16 days, starting March 1, each with their own spin that gives the official FIFA World Cup theme its own local flavor. Dallas’ Sonic ID will be revealed last of the 16 host cities on March 16.
The producer tasked with incorporating the North Texas culture into a lasting legacy will be four-time Grammy Award winning producer Tre Nagella, of Dallas.
Who is Tre Nagella?
Nagella is a Grammy award winning studio engineer, record mixer and music producer who has worked with numerous multi-platinum artists, including Lady Gaga, Kirk Franklin, Blake Shelton, Snoop Dogg, Ed Sheeran, Pat Green, and Travis Scott, according to his website.
Other artists Nagella has worked with, according to his website, include Taylor Swift, Pitbull, Gene Simmons and more.
