Dallas’ Director of Government Affairs leaving for Austin

In a statement to WFAA, Carrie Rogers confirmed she accepted a position with the City of Austin.

DALLAS — Dallas’ Director of Government Affairs Carrie Rogers announced Thursday that she is leaving Dallas City Hall to take a position with the City of Austin.

In a statement to WFAA, Rogers confirmed she has already accepted a position at Austin City Hall and will start there in early December.

Rogers will have no shortage of familiar faces down in Austin. She’ll join her former boss, T.C. Broadnax, who was hired as Austin City Manager following his resignation from the same role in Dallas. She’ll also be working in the same building as former Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia, who accepted an Assistant City Manager position with Austin in September.

As the Director of Government Affairs in Dallas, Rogers has overseen Dallas’ legislative plan since taking the job in 2017.

” I love Dallas and always will,” Rogers told WFAA. “Looking ahead, I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve the residents of Austin and am excited to get to work.”
