Dallas police officer arrested for public intoxication, DPD says

 

The officer has been with the department since July 2019, according to a department spokesperson.

DALLAS — A Dallas police officer was arrested Saturday morning by the dep artment he works for. 

The Dallas Police Department (DPD) said in a release that Dallas police officer Issac Burton was arrested on Jan. 25 for public intoxication, a class-C misdemeanor. 

DPD did not say when or where the incident happened, but noted that officer Burton was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an Internal Affairs investigation. 

Officer Burton has been with DPD since July 2019, the department said, and is assigned to the Community Operations Division. 

No further information was immediately available.
