A Las Colinas restaurant was named one of the nation’s most beautiful to open this year.
The Robb Report, a luxury lifestyle magazine, recognized 27 new restaurants for their “stunning” interiors. That included Knife Italian Steak in Irving’s Las Colinas district, with its magenta seating and staggered palm trees.
The restaurant and its Italian cuisine was created by Michelin-starred chef John Tesar and opened in March at The Ritz-Carlton Dallas, Las Colinas.
Tesar told Restaurant Hospitality in July that Knife Italian fuzes his steakhouse experiences and Italian heritage, with a little bit of a New York sophistication and extravagance thrown in.
The restaurant’s bar is clad in pink to stick out against the main dining room’s complementary accents like a black-and-white striped table, gold fixtures, dark flooring and dimmed lanterns.
The interior design for which the restaurant was recognized came from the mind of Thomas Schoos of Los Angeles-based Schoos Design. Schoos told Robb Report to “think of a Fellini movie but in bright color” to describe the restaurant’s look and feel.
The space has private dining, a wine room and a solarium lining the edge of the restaurant. Knife Italian’s menu includes pizza, pasta, salads and steaks sourced from Cameron, Texas-based 44 Farms, Restaurant Hospitality reported.
Four Texas restaurants were among the 27 recognized by Robb Report. The others were The Marigold Club and Milton’s in Houston along with Austin’s Serenade.
