While I’ve observed throughout my years of political writing that the height of hypocrisy of the left knows no bounds, I’ve also marveled that the depth of dishonesty of the Democrat Party knows no equal.
Case in point: Disingenuous (bald-faced lying) Democrats on the House Oversight Committee are desperately trying to shift blame away from Joe Biden for the multiple troves of classified documents found in his home and office, and toward former Biden aide Kathy Chung. They are now also accusing Republican Committee Chairman James Comer of making “xenophobic” and “racist” comments about Chung.
See how that works?
As reported by Just the News, Committee Democrats released a 16-page memo on Wednesday to show “the extent to which Committee Republicans have lied about Ms. Chung, including the purpose of her position in the White House,” smarmy Maryland Rep. Jamie Raskin, the panel’s top Democrat, wrote.
Here’s more from Just the News:
The documents were discovered earlier this year and are from the Obama administration, under which Chung served and Biden was vice president.
The memo includes excerpts from a transcribed interview that Comer, a Kentucky Republican, held with Chung last month. It also states that Comer “made absurd statements misrepresenting” Chung’s position in the Obama administration, in which Biden was the vice president, and he “amplified baseless, xenophobic, and racist conspiracy theories” about Chung on the news while “incorrectly” claiming that she provided “startling” information during the interview.
The memo also states Chung testified that no one from the Biden family was involved in packing nor did they instruct her on what to pack.
Hang on — let’s catch up, here. So the Democrat memo throws Chung under the bus, yet accuses Comer and the Republicans of xenophobia and racism? Uh-huh, makes total sense — Democrat-style.
Setting aside that none of the quotes attributed to Comer in the memo were anywhere near “xenophobic” or “racist,” and I might be missing something, but what exactly did the chairman lie about or misrepresent? (Zero.)
While the memo clearly attempts to shift blame from Biden to Chung, it also appears to absolve both of them of wrongdoing. Again, Democrat “magic”:
Chung also confirmed that she did not review or study the materials she unpacked from the boxes she had originally packed at the end of the Obama-Biden Administration. She later unpacked and repacked some of Biden’s materials in 2020 and 2022.
So, What Did Comer Really Say About Kathy Chung?
As reported by Fox News, Comer said Chung “provided startling information that undermines the Biden White House’s narrative on the matter.” In a statement, he added:
Today we learned that when Joe Biden left the vice presidency, boxes containing classified documents, vice presidential records, and other items were stored in three different locations around the Washington, D.C. area, including an office near the White House, an office in Chinatown, and eventually the Penn Biden Center.
At some point, the boxes containing classified materials were transported by personal vehicles to an office location. The boxes were not in a ‘locked closet’ at the Penn Biden Center and remained accessible to Penn Biden employees as well as potentially others with access to the office space. We need to find out who had access to these documents.
Comer also disputed the White House’s classified documents timeline:
Then-White House Counsel Dana Remus tasked Kathy Chung with retrieving these boxes from the Penn Biden Center as early as May 2022. This story does not begin in November 2022, as represented by President Biden’s attorney.
So, did you catch the xenophobic racism in those block quotes? Me neither.
Comer and other Republican committee members have suggested for months that the Democrats would attempt to shift blame from Biden to Chung, and Democrats being Democrats, they not only did exactly that; they also incredulously claimed Chung did nothing wrong.
Who’d a thunk it? Except for everyone not a Democrat, I mean.
