More rounds of thunderstorms are possible this week before a quiet pattern settles in next week.
Key points:
- Monday will be drier after Sunday night’s storms
- Another round of storms Monday night/Tuesday morning
- The weekend looks a bit drier
Monday
Sunday night/Monday morning storms have cleared across most of North Texas. Much of the day will be quiet and drier. Expect a mix of sunshine and clouds with a light north wind. Highs will be lower than yesterday, in the 80s. Don’t get too comfortable, more storms are in the forecast.

Next round of storms
Another round of storms will be possible tonight into Tuesday morning. Storms could develop in West Texas on Monday afternoon. If the storms develop, they could reach North Texas between midnight tonight and sunrise Tuesday morning. The threat of severe weather will be low, but a few storms could contain up to 60 mph wind gusts and up to quarter-size hail. Storm coverage will be less than Sunday night.
Mid to late-week storms
Storm chances will ramp up again Wednesday through Thursday, with a general clearing out on Friday. A slow-moving weather system will help drive higher rain coverage on Wednesday and Thursday. Higher humidity leading up to mid-week means there will be plenty of moisture in place for storms to produce heavy rainfall. An already saturated ground could bring a flood threat.
The threat of severe weather will be lower than Sunday night’s threat. Be sure to keep checking back in.

Father’s Day Weekend
A gradual drying trend is expected as a high-pressure system begins to build from the west. While some lingering showers are still possible (especially east of the Metroplex), most areas will begin to warm up and dry out.
Expect temperatures to return to the upper 80s and lower 90s by Saturday and Sunday.
14 day
Mid to late June looks drier. Temps will be climbing into the 90s without the rain and added cloud cover.
