Heavy rainfall across North Texas set back-to-back daily rain records at DFW and caused flooding. Here’s how much rain fell.
DALLAS — Widespread showers and storms brought heavy rain in North Texas Wednesday night and Thursday morning, setting a back-to-back daily record rainfall totals at DFW Airport and flooded roadways.
A flood watch is in effect Thursday until noon for DFW and areas northeast with widespread totals of 2-4 inches of rain likely with some areas seeing up to 5-7 inches of rain.
DFW Airport saw some of the highest rainfall totals and set back-to-back daily record rainfall.
Rainfall Wednesday set a new daily record at DFW Airport with 2.8 inches. The previous daily record was 0.9 inches set in 1999.
Thursday also set a new record for rainfall Jan. 30 at DFW with 1.36 inches. The previous record was 1.24 inches set in 1986.

- Mesquite with 4.52 inches
- Grand Prairie with 4.13 inches
- Love Field with 4.05 inches
- Rockwall with 3.91 inches
- Plano with 3.75 inches
- Cedar Hill with 3.49 inches
- Fort Worth with 3.22 inches
After the rain moves out, Friday is expected to remain dry with temperatures warming.
