Here’s the latest forecast for this week and beyond:

Quick Notes:

  • Heat advisories in place
  • Dangerous heat this week
  • more triple-digits expected

We finally did it. It’s the day we all knew was coming eventually. DFW hit 100° Sunday afternoon, and it looks to be the first triple-digit day of several to come in the next two weeks.

There are plenty more where that came from!

A heatwave is building this week, and dangerous heat is expected to stick around for quite a while. As of now, heat advisories are in effect for Monday and Tuesday afternoon for the metroplex and areas east. This is likely to be extended and expanded before we get to the middle of the week.

Highs on Monday will be in the upper 90s with a few 100° readings scattered in there. Humidity starts to creep up over the next few days, too. That means dangerous heat index values. That’s why the heat advisories have been issued and are expected to continue most of the week.

Heatwave

Looking to Tuesday and beyond, it will get even hotter in the area. The other problem is increasing humidity. With that being said, PLEASE remember your heat safety. Drink lots of water: dehydration can sneak up on you quickly in this heat.

14 day forecast

No relief to be found. We see the pattern staying put for quite some time. That means dangerous heat will continue into the 4th of July and beyond. Rain chances remain minimal at beast. Summer is locked in.
