DALLAS — Labor Day weekend is upon us. And after a month of scorching temperatures across the North Texas, the good news is that we’re for a cooldown over the next several days. We could also see scattered rain each day. It won’t be a washout, but daily rain chances are in the forecast for Dallas-Fort Worth and much of Texas.

So if you’re staying in town, or hitting the road, keep the forecast in mind.

Thursday

Showers and storms will develop again this afternoon, but still isolated over most of North Texas. Higher chances will be south and east of the Metroplex, mainly during the afternoon and evening.

Friday

Rain chances will increase on Friday over the northwest portion of North Texas as a weak cold front approaches.

The Weekend

The highest chances for showers and storms will on Saturday and Sunday. Be prepared for interruptions with any outdoor events. Again, severe weather isn’t expected, but gusty winds and brief heavy rain will be possible with stronger storms.

Labor Day

Scattered showers and storms will continue into Labor Day. The rain chances, mostly cloudy skies and northeast winds will help keep temperatures in the 80s.
