WASHINGTON — The Mega Millions jackpot reached $464 million for Friday’s drawing, approaching half-a-billion dollars after a winless streak since early June.
Mega Millions’ most recent winner was an anonymous player in Illinois who won a $552 million jackpot ($260.2 million cash) on June 4. Huge jackpot wins have been the norm in 2024: A ticket sold in New Jersey hit a $1.13 billion Mega Millions jackpot in March, and a Powerball ticket in Oregon won a jackpot worth more than $1.3 billion in April.
