Driver arrested after crashing into police car during traffic stop in North Texas, officials say

 

The crash happened during a traffic stop in Collin County Thursday, officials say.

PRINCETON, Texas — A driver was arrested after hitting a police car with an officer inside during a traffic stop in North Texas Thursday night, police said.

Police said the officer’s car was hit in the 800 block of W. Princeton Drive in Princeton in Collin County at about 8 p.m.

The driver left the scene but officers found the driver at the intersection of 4th Street and Bois d’Arc Avenue shortly after the crash, the department said. The driver wasn’t identified.

The officer and the driver of the vehicle involved in the initial traffic stop weren’t injured, police said.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
