Driver charged with manslaughter after woman dies in single-vehicle crash, police say

 

Police responded to a crash around 2:45 a.m. Sunday in the 9000 block of East Northwest Highway, police said.

DALLAS — A 23-year-old woman died in a single-vehicle crash, Dallas police said. 

Officers responded to a crash around 2:45 a.m. Sunday at Northwest Highway and North Buckner Boulevard, Dallas police said in a press release. Investigators found that a driver and a passenger were driving eastbound on East Northwest Highway when they lost control of the vehicle and crashed, police said. 

The passenger, 23-year-old Alyssa Rodriguez, died at the scene, police said. 

The driver was transported to a hospital with minor injuries and will be charged with intoxication manslaughter, police said. 

The crash is under investigation, police said.
