SAN ANTONIO – A driver was killed after his sedan hit debris on State Highway 151, struck an SUV and then split in half on Wednesday morning.
The crash happened after 6 a.m. in the 7200 block of State Highway 151.
A preliminary report states the driver was in a black sedan traveling westbound on the highway when he hit debris in the road and lost control as he went across the grassy median.
The sedan went into the eastbound lanes and hit a black SUV. Police said the impact caused the sedan to split in half, and each half went to the opposite sides of the median.
The driver was ejected from the sedan. He was pronounced dead in an ambulance at the scene.
The crash shut down traffic for hours but the lanes have since reopened.
