A man is facing charges in a fatal crash Friday evening in Pleasant Grove. Police say he was speeding in his pickup when it crashed into a car.

Steven Castrejon, 25, is facing one count each of manslaughter and aggravated assault, online jail records show. Joshua Simeon Johnson, 22, died in the crash and one other person was injured, police said. It is unclear if Castrejon has an attorney.

About 6:30 p.m., Johnson was driving east on Bruton Road and turning left onto the 2100 block of Pleasant Drive. Castrejon, in a pickup, was speeding west when he struck the passenger’s side of Johnson’s car, according to police.

Dallas Fire-Rescue took Johnson to a hospital, where he died. Castrejon had a 25-year-old passenger in the truck, who was also taken to a hospital with injuries that police said were not life-threatening.

Police did not provide any additional information about Castrejon’s arrest. Heremained jailed Saturday morning, records show.
