One person was arrested after crashing into a truck on Interstate 30 near MacArthur Boulevard, police said.
GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas — Grand Prarie police arrested one person after they allegedly struck another vehicle, killing their passenger, police said.
Police responded to a fatal accident around 5:05 a.m. Sunday in the westbound lanes of Interstate 30 near MacArthur Boulevard, Grand Prarie Police said in a press release.
Investigators found a Dodge truck pulling a utility trailer was stopped on the shoulder of the interstate when a car struck the trailer from behind, police said. The passenger of the car was pronounced dead on the scene and the driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
The truck driver was not injured, police said.
Investigators found the car’s driver was allegedly intoxicated and will be charged with intoxication manslaughter when released from the hospital, police said. Officials did not immediately release the name of the victim.
