Duncanville finished up the season with an overall record of 27-7.

SAN ANTONIO — The Duncanville Panthers defeated Houston Bellaire in the 6A-Division 2 ranks, 54-52, Saturday night to earn their sixth state championship.

Prior to this season, the Panthers had not appeared in the UIL tournament since 2022. They returned this year with one goal in mind: to hoist a state title —and they did just that.

Duncanville’s senior guard Kayden Edwards was named Most Valuable Player of Saturday’s championship game after scoring 23 points, recording six rebounds, and adding two assists.

Duncanville finished the season with a 27-7 record.
