East Texas student-athlete being flown to hospital after getting injured during basketball tournament

BROWNSBORO, Texas — An East Texas student-athlete is being flown to a local hospital for treatment after being injured during a local basketball tournament.

Brownsboro ISD says an athlete from a visiting school was hurt during the Great East Texas Shootout in a game being played at the junior high. The student was initially treated by EMS and the decision was made to take him to a medical center by helicopter.

“Please know that the helicopter will be landing at our track and field located by our Transportation Department,” Brownsboro ISD said. “Please keep the student-athlete, their family, and the team in your thoughts and prayers.”
