Electric scooter stolen from Texas A&M campus

   

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — An electric scooter was reported stolen from the Texas A&M University campus on July 10, 2024, according to the Texas A&M University Police Department.

The victim parked her black and green Glare EBC1 electric scooter at the loading dock of Duncan Dining Hall around 12:15 p.m. and discovered it missing at approximately 5:42 p.m. The scooter had been locked to the railing near the stairs, stated the Texas A&M University Police Department.

The National Incident Based Reporting System (NIBRS) classifies an electric scooter as a motor vehicle, according to the Texas A&M University Police Department. The case number for this incident is 24-0710-0005.

Anyone with information about this crime or other incidents is encouraged to contact the Texas A&M University Police Department at 979-845-2345.

In compliance with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act (Clery Act), the university also provided anti-theft suggestions. These include using a high-quality lock, parking in well-lit areas, considering a GPS tracker, and removing the battery pack whenever possible.

“The safety of our community does not have borders,” stated the Texas A&M University Police Department. They urge the community to report suspicious activity to the Texas A&M University Police Department, the College Station Police Department, the Bryan Police Department, or the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office.
