Funding from the Centennial Parks Conservation Fund will be used to accelerate development and public use of the property.

The expansion features a rock formation that could provide a new scenic view of the pink granite dome the park is named for. Previously, the land was mainly used for private hunting.

TPWD will consult with the public to determine recreational opportunities for the property. An opening date has not been set.
