Engineering firm to cease operations at Eastman plant outside Longview, eliminating 43 jobs

   

S&B officials notified the Texas Workforce Commission of the impending layoffs Jan. 27.

LONGVIEW, Texas — Forty-three Longview workers will lose their jobs at the end of March when their company’s contract with Eastman Chemical Co. ends.

S&B Engineers and Constructors, a contractor for Eastman at its plant just outside Longview, is ceasing operations because Eastman officials opted not to renew a contract.

S&B officials notified the Texas Workforce Commission of the impending layoffs Jan. 27. The layoffs will take effect March 28. The company’s Longview offices are at 814 S. Eastman Road.
