Former Ennis Equipment Services Superintendent Eric Contreras was arrested and charged with theft by the Texas Department of Public Safety.
ENNIS, Texas — The City of Ennis announced the firing of its equipment services superintendent after the Texas Department of Public Safety arrested him for theft.
DPS officials said the department arrested Eric Contreras on Tuesday after conducting a theft investigation. According to Ennis officials, the city initiated the investigation.
The city fired Contreras, who was charged with theft between $750 and $2,500.
“As we navigate this situation, our focus remains on upholding the highest standards of ethical conduct and ensuring the integrity of our operations. We recognize the importance of transparency and maintaining the trust of our community and ask for patience as we navigate this matter” said Interim City Manager Dustin Munn.
