It’s getting to the point where one has to wonder: How far does a social contagion have to progress before people in general stop, look, and say, “All right, that’s enough — this whole thing has gotten entirely too silly.” How looney tunes does a social movement have to get before the general public calls BS?
We aren’t there yet. At least, not where the various trans-this and trans-that ideas have gone.
Look, there are people out there who suffer from gender dysphoria. That’s been a psychological condition that has been known for decades and has generally successfully been treated with therapy. But some people are taking callous advantage of the publicity around this.

Then there are others who are just… daffy. One such is a Japanese man who spent the equivalent of $14k having a realistic dog costume made because he wanted to be a dog. Once he found out it was difficult to run an obstacle course dressed as a German Shepherd, he decided he wanted to be a panda.
A Japanese man who spent thousands of dollars to transform into a dog said that he has changed his mind after realizing it’s hard to walk like a dog.
Toco spent $14,000 on a custom-made rough collie costume in 2022 in order to fulfill his lifelong fantasy of ‘becoming an animal.’
He waited for 40 days as the special suits and makeup company Zeppet finished his ‘ultra-realistic’ dog costume in 2022, before finally being able to live his dream.
But now, he has revealed that the challenges of moving like a dog have made him consider imitating other animals.
‘Dogs and humans have different bone structures and the way they bend their legs and arms, so it’s very difficult to make movements that look like this.
‘I might realistically be able to become another dog, a panda or a bear, a fox or a cat would also be nice, but they are too small for humans to try.
At least this guy just went the costume route; that is easy enough to undo just by removing what appears to be a stiflingly hot, heavy costume and, we can hope, taking a shower. But a few years back now, there was the Argentinian… person who had a range of surgeries to transform himself into an elf.
Again: Yes, really.
Argentinian Luis Padron has spent over £45,000 to achieve his dream with costly and painful surgeries.
Luis, who believes he was born in the wrong body, has had liposuction on his jaw, a nose job, laser skin bleaching and more.
He also went through an excruciating process to change his eye colour and is considering a risky surgery in India which could cost him his sight.
There is an outfit in Chicago called IntraSpectrum Counseling, which helps — supposedly — young people who are going through a phase where they claim to have a second, animal self.
According to therapist Vilte Baliutaviciute, MA, LPC, of IntraSpectrum Counseling in Chicago, having a nonhuman identity is generally par for the course for any young individual growing up. Here’s what she wrote in her article:
“Nonhuman identity, like other facets of identity, tends to go through a developmental period (usually in adolescence) and stay stable throughout the lifespan. Some research suggests a possible overlap with other forms of neurodiversity, but the identity itself is not inherently pathological.
“Most clinical and sociological research on therian and otherkin communities agrees: this is best approached as diversity, not deficit. Someone can have a rich, well-adjusted life while still identifying as a bear or kobold.”
No, it’s not diversity. It’s nuts. At some point, reality has to set in. At some point, these young skulls full of mush have to realize that they can “identify” until their eyes bleed, but they aren’t and never will be a bear, kobold, ham sandwich, pet rock, or anything other than a deluded boy or girl who really needs to see a serious therapist, not some enabling nut who is probably charging a handsome hourly fee to enable some kid’s delusions.
These things are not healthy, and it’s just too damn easy to game the system due to the built-in hypersensitivity of the “woke” who enable this crap.

Look, these are the kinds of things little kids go through in their fantasy lives. My Mom, until she passed, would tell with great amusement about the summer when I was three and went around all summer flapping my arms, insisting I was a red-tailed hawk. But now we have kids in their teens, claiming to be “Therians” or some such nonsense (in reality, the Theria are a subclass of mammals including all placental mammals and marsupials, so they are technically correct, but not in the way they intended) and, instead of telling them “No, you’re not,” parents are running in panic to some quack who will indulge the kid and laugh — all the way to the bank.
Reality, sooner or later, is going to assert itself on these young people. How that happens is largely up to their parents, but it’s also up to the community as a whole to just stop enabling these kinds of silly ideas. At some point, we as a people need to stomp on the brakes and say, “No, this whole thing has gotten entirely too silly.”
