ESPN cameras capture security incident near dugout at College World Series

Saturday night’s College World Series game between the Florida Gators and Texas A&M Aggies was briefly delayed in the bottom of the second inning due to a security incident near the Gators dugout.

And while most of security incidents at sporting events are not captured on television (usually by design), ESPN cameras were close to this one as it unfolded.

A Texas A&M fan was seen leaning over a railing near the Florida dugout. And while a police offer did have control of the fan, he was still able to get close to the face of someone else. Another policeman began walking toward the incident but as he was getting there, the others officers were finally able to lead the Aggies fan away.

Travis L. Brown, a reporter for The Bryan-College Station Eagle, captured the incident, as well, but from another angle. His angle showed how close he the A&M fan was to the Florida dugout. It also showed that there was another Aggies fan with though, although the other fan was several feet away. At least, that was the case when the cops got physically involved.

Eric Sorenson was close to where everything took place also shed more light on the matter on X (formerly Twitter), detailing what the heckling was about.

“BREAKING: Two A&M jackasses just came down to the Florida bench yelling at Coach O’Sullivan saying that he killed someone and be ashamed,” Sorenson said. “Assistants on the gator staff started throwing F-bombs at them and went to run up to them but the cops had wrangled them by then.”

And with that, an already strange incident got even weirder.
