Officials responded to a fatal crash around 4:45 a.m. in the northbound lanes of Interstate 45, Dallas Fire-Rescue said.
DALLAS — All northbound lanes of Interstate 45 on Thursday were closed due to a fatal crash, Dallas-Fire Rescue said.

The two-vehicle crash involved a jackknifed and overturned 18-wheeler and another vehicle, according to a press release from Dallas Fire-Rescue. One person died in the crash, fire officials said. It wasn’t immediately clear what vehicle the deceased person was in, according to the release.
All lanes heading toward downtown Dallas were closed around 7 a.m., according to TxDOT. Traffic was backed up past Interstate 20 due to the crash.
