Fatal motorcycle crash shuts down express lanes at NW Highway 287

 

Two motorcycles collided overnight in Fort Worth, one of the drivers died at the scene and the other was transported to an area hospital.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Fort Worth police are investigating a fatal accident that occurred overnight in Fort Worth

Police responded to a major accident involving two motorcycles at 11:42 p.m. Saturday, May 18 at the North Freeway express lanes at Northwest Highway 287, according to a release from the Fort Worth Police Department (FWPD). 

The driver of one of the motorcycles was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was transported to a hospital in serious but stable condition, according to the police. FWPD did not immediately release any additional information about the victims. 

All northbound lanes were closed due to the incident but have since reopened as of 7 a.m. Sunday, May 19. Traffic detectives are investigating the incident.
