The FC Dallas roster has been overhauled in the offseason ahead of 2025. Here is a breakdown of the new faces and who won’t be on the team.
FRISCO, Texas — FC Dallas won’t look the same in 2025 as it did last year.
There is a new coach.
Franchise players have been traded or sold. The front office has been spending big money to bring in new players.
Long story short, this team won’t look the same as you remember it on Decision Day back in October 2024. Here is a quick breakdown of who has left and who has joined the team:
FC Dallas signings
- Pedrinho: An attacking midfielder signed from North Texas SC for the 2025 season with club options for 2026 and 2027.
- Ramiro: A midfielder signed as a free agent to a two-year contract with an option for 2027 and will require an international roster spot. Ramiro played in Brazil’s top division for most of his career (250+ games) and won Copa Libertadores with Grêmio.
- Lalas Abubakar: A center back who spent six seasons with the Colorado Rapids and two with the Columbus Crew. He signed with FC Dallas from free agency on a two-year contract with an option for 2027.
- Shaq Moore: FC Dallas traded up to $150,000 GAM to Nashville SC to acquire Moore, a right back with 19 USMNT caps. He spent time in the FC Dallas Academy during his youth before becoming a pro in Europe.
- Anderson Julio: Ecuadorian international winger/forward that FC Dallas acquired from Real Salt Lake with defender Sam Junqua and up to $500,000 GAM going the other way. He’ll occupy an international roster spot.
- Léo Chú: Brazilian winger acquired from Seattle (along with up to 2.3 million GAM) for Jesús Ferreira. He’ll occupy an international spot and a U22 spot.
- Patrickson Delgado: Ecuadorian midfielder signed to a three-year contract (with an option for 2028) after spending the 2024 season on loan with FC Dallas. He’ll occupy an international spot.
- Diego Garcia: An 18-year-old central midfielder signed from North Texas SC as a Homegrown player.
- Anthony Ramirez: A 19-year-old attacking midfielder/winger signed from North Texas SC as a Homegrown player.
- Michael Collodi: A 23-year-old goalkeeper signed from North Texas SC as a Homegrown player.
- Malachi Molina: An 18-year-old right back signed from North Texas SC as a Homegrown player.
- Diego Pepi: A 20-year-old forward signed from North Texas SC as a Homegrown player. Diego is the younger brother of former FCD Homegrown Ricardo Pepi.
- Daniel Baran: An 18-year-old winger signed from North Texas SC as a Homegrown player.
- Osaze Urhoghide: A 24-year-old center back signed as a free agent to a four-year contract through 2028 with a one-year club option for 2029. He will occupy an international roster slot, pending receipt of his P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC). Urhoghide’s transfer represents the highest transfer fee ever paid for a defender in FC Dallas history.
- Luciano “Lucho” Acosta: FC Dallas traded $5 million for FC Cincinnati’s former MLS MVP.
- Álvaro Augusto: FC Dallas signed Augusto via transfer from Portuguese side Portimonense S.C. to a three-year contract through 2027 with club options for 2028 and 2029. He will occupy an international roster slot, pending receipt of his P-1 visa and International Transfer Certificate (ITC). The Portuguese-Brazilian defender trialed with the club during its preseason camp in Algarve, Portugal.
FC Dallas departures
- Jesús Ferreira: Traded to Seattle Sounders for Léo Chú, up to $2.3 million General Allocation Money (GAM) and an international roster spot.
- Alan Velasco: Sold to Boca Juniors for approximately $10 million transfer fee
- Paul Arriola: Traded to Seattle Sounders for up to $300,000 GAM and the Sounders’ 2026 first round MLS SuperDraft pick.
- Sam Junqua: Traded to Real Salt Lake along with up to $500,000 GAM for Anderson Julio.
- Nkosi Tafari: Traded to LAFC for $300,000 2026 GAM and an international roster slot
- Jimmy Maurer: Contract expired; signed with Houston Dynamo
- Ruan: Contract expired
- Liam Fraser: Contract option declined
- Omar Gonzalez: Contract option declined
- Dante Sealy: Contract option declined
- Ema Twumasi: Contract option declined
- Eugene Ansah: Contract option declined
- Isaiah Parker: Contract option declined
