This year’s champion will win over $1.5 million plus, a fully restored and modernized 1975 Schwab Stingray.
FORT WORTH, Texas — The world’s number one player and North Texas resident Scottie Scheffler will be in Fort Worth next week competing in the 78th Charles Schwab Challenge at Colonial Country Club.
Scheffler will compete alongside Viktor Hovland, Max Homa, Dallas’ Jordan Spieth, Brian Harman, Collin Morikawa and a final field of 133 players. They will compete for a a $9.1 million purse starting Thursday, May 23. Public tickets are on sale now.
The winner will take home $1.56 million and a fully restored and modernized 1975 Schwab Stingray.
Ten former Charles Schwab Challenge champions will also compete including two-time champion Zach Johnson, Jordan Spieth, Daniel Berger, Chris Kirk, Kevin Kisner, Justin Rose, Rory Sabbatini, Adam Scott, Olin Browne and last year’s champion Emiliano Grillo.
The field also includes five of the sport’s top 15 ranked players.
On Thursday, the first day of tournament play, there will be 50% off all food and non-alcoholic drinks at on-course concessions and food trucks. Children 15 and under are admitted for free with an adult.
