Fired CNN Hack Brian Stelter Scores Sweet Harvard Gig — Musing About ‘Threats to Democracy’

In the premiere episode of Mr. Potato Head Goes to Harvard…

The headline says it all. From the unceasing hyperpartisanship of former CNN “Reliable Sources” host Brian Stelter to the state of America’s formerly prestigious universities.

Harvard Kennedy School announced this week that Stelter will join the Shorenstein Center as the Fall 2022 Walter Shorenstein Media & Democracy Fellow. The Kennedy school said the “high profile figure” will be discussing a range of “important policies and current issues.” Emphasis mine.

As the Walter Shorenstein Fellow, Stelter will convene a series of discussions about threats to democracy and the range of potential responses from the news media. These discussions with media leaders, policy makers, politicians, and Kennedy School students, fellows, and faculty will help deepen public and scholarly understanding about the current state of the information ecosystem and its impacts on democratic governance.

Brian Stelter is a nationally recognized media reporter and expert on the state of journalism and its wide-reaching implications for society and governance. Until August 2022 he was the anchor of “Reliable Sources,” which examined the week’s top media stories every Sunday on CNN, and the chief media correspondent for CNN Worldwide.

Did I mention this is not a piece from my favorite satire site, The Babylon Bee?

Stelter will no doubt feel right at home at elitist Harvard — perhaps more so than in his chair at The Most Trusted Name in News(TM), before being unceremoniously kicked to the curb as part of new CNN honcho Chris Licht’s plan to “return” CNN to actually and accurately covering the news from a journalistic perspective. I’d suggest Stelter will feel like a pig in slop — but that would be uncouth.

After all these years, Mr. Potato Head has finally landed the perfect job — and based on the current state of Harvard, more secure. According to a survey conducted by the Harvard Crimson in July, less than two percent of Harvard faculty are conservative.

The bottom line:

Brian Stelter is irrelevant. This “news” serves as yet another example of the continuing decline of the once-hallowed halls of academia. In contrast to Stelter’s irrelevancy, America’s institutions of (once) higher learning have given way to radical leftist elitist ideology, which matters more than some of us might think.

The left’s hierarchy begins with liberal elites who employ and/or exploit useful idiots in Congress, the so-called “mainstream media,” which in turn pushes left-wing ideology out to low-information Democrat voters. While I’m far from a conspiracy theorist, I’ve seen more than enough of this hierarchy in practice for it not to be reality.

So as Brian Stelter walks blissfully into the sunset of his “storied” CNN career, into the waiting arms of like-minded leftist Harvard elites, let’s take one more walk down RedState’s Brian Stelter Lane, with a tear (of joy?) in our eye.
