FORECAST

Happy fall, y’all!

It sure didn’t feel like it with temperatures in the low-to-mid 90s for most today, but a few changes are likely to move in by the end of this week. Here’s the latest:

Monday will feature more unseasonably hot temperatures and humidity. Mid-70s in the morning transition to the low-to-mid 90s in the afternoon, likely feeling a few degrees hotter thanks to that humidity. While most will miss out, a few stray showers can’t be ruled out, mainly by late afternoon and evening. We’ll call it a 10% to 20% chance at best.

Another hot and humid day in San Antonio.

Isolated rain chances are in the forecast through the middle of the week, likely peaking on Wednesday at 30%.

A weak cool front looks to push through the area late Wednesday, sending a batch of drier air into South Central Texas. This will lead to a more seasonable feel ahead of next weekend with a few mornings in the upper 60s and highs closer to 90°.

We’ll keep you posted on that in the days ahead!

7 day forecast as of 9/22/24.
TROPICAL UPDATE

Meanwhile in the tropics, the National Hurricane Center continues to flag the western Caribbean and central Gulf of Mexico for likely development over the next week.

This system, which will be named Helene if it strengthens into a tropical storm, is expected to remain well east of Texas with a likely landfall somewhere between Mississippi and Florida ahead of next weekend.

Tropical development is likely in the central Gulf of Mexico this week, but will stay east of Texas.

More updates to come… until then, have a great week! ~ Mia
