Five people rescued in two-alarm apartment fire near Downtown Fort Worth, officials say

 

According to the Fort Worth Fire Department, the fire came from the second story of an apartment complex.

FORT WORTH, Texas — The Fort Worth Fire Department rescued five people from a burning apartment building Friday night near downtown, officials say.

The call came in just before 9 p.m., FWFD says, in the 3100 block of Hamilton Avenue. The fire could reportedly be seen from the second story of the apartment complex.

The five people rescued were one mother, two children and two elderly people, according to officials. 

Two of those rescued were treated on scene, officials said. No one was taken to a hospital. 

FWFD says firefighters are still doing clean-up and seeing which units can be saved. 

The department’s arson team says there is a person of interest they are talking to. The investigation is ongoing.
