Fort Worth police searching for suspect in fatal stabbing in apartment complex early Friday

The victim was found with a stab wound to his lower body in an apartment, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

FORT WORTH, Texas — The Fort Worth Police Department is looking for a suspect after a man was found with a fatal stab wound in an apartment early Friday morning.

Police said officers were called at around 1:39 a.m. about a stabbing at an apartment in the 100 block of Harding Street. Officers found the victim inside with what appeared to be a stab wound in his lower body, according to FWPD.

Despite attempts by medical personnel to intervene, the victim didn’t survive, police said. Officials pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The victim and an identified suspect were determined to have had a physical and verbal altercation outside of the apartment before the stabbing, police said. The suspect reportedly left after the argument, but returned soon and stabbed the victim at least once before fleeing in a vehicle.

The investigation remains ongoing, police said.

FWPD said Tarrant County Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death, and that the victim will be identified once next of kin have been notified.
