Four North Texas families displaced after apartment fire in Irving

 

Four apartments were heavily damaged in the fire, but nobody was hurt, according to Irving FD.

IRVING, Texas — An apartment fire in Irving has displaced four families.

According to Irving Fire Department, crews responded to a fire at the Woodmeade Apartment Homes on Block Drive. Firefighters on the scene saw heavy smoke and fire from the balconies and roof, officials say.

IFD says nobody was hurt in the fire, but by the time they put it out, two apartments were heavily damaged by fire and two additional units were damaged by smoke. As a result, four families were displaced by the fire.

IFD officials told WFAA the Red Cross has been notified to assist the four families.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation, according to IFD.
