BIRMINGHAM, Ala – Texas A&M’s Adela Cernousek, Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio and Sky Sudberry earned All-SEC recognition after a vote from the league coaches, the conference announced Wednesday.
Cernousek was named to the All-SEC First Team for the first time in her career. She boasts a 70.11 stroke average, which is second best in the conference and on pace to set the new program record. The junior registered six top-10 finishes, including runner-up honors at the Jackson T. Stephens Cup and Clemson Invitational. The Antibes, France, native is No. 40 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) and No. 13 on the Scoreboard/Clippd Ranking.
Cayetana Fernández García-Poggio earned All-SEC Second Team and All-Freshman Team honors after posting a 71.81 stroke average in her rookie campaign. Fernández García-Poggio had her best outing of the season at the 2024 SEC Championships where she tied for eighth in stroke play and then went 3-0 in match play. The freshman is ranked No. 9 in the world on the WAGR and has the 15th lowest stroke average in the SEC.
Sky Sudberry locked in an All-SEC Community Service Team nod for her work in the Brazos Valley. The freshman was a Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative and also was a panelist for the F.A.C.E. Mental Health Panel this past February. The Woodlands, Texas, native also participated in the AggiesCan food drive and REVved Up to Read program to help promote literacy in Aggieland.
The No. 12 Texas A&M women’s golf team returns to the course May 6-8 at the Bryan Regional at The Traditions Club.
The Aggies have made it to the semifinals of the NCAA Championships each of the past two years and are the No. 2 seed at the Regional.
