Actor Robert De Niro has enjoyed a legendary Hollywood acting career, starring in classics such as “The Godfather Part II,” “Goodfellas,” and “Raging Bull,” to name a few.

In recent times, however, he seems hell-bent on destroying his reputation by going on unhinged rants against the GOP presumptive nominee for president, Donald Trump. His tirades are so noxious, so divisive, and so detached from reality that he may be remembered by the younger generation more for his tantrums than for his Academy Award-winning roles.

In his latest bid to be remembered more for his lunacy than his movies, he’s lent his voice to a new Biden campaign ad as the octogenarian incumbent president seeks to save his disastrous reelection campaign. The only problem with this spot? It’s full of debunked stories, misinformation, and—one could argue—outright lies.
Watch:
Where to start with all the BS in this ad? In just one line, the thespian-turned-divisive-Keith Olbermann-wannabe manages to slip in four debunked narratives:
The campaign ad begins with De Niro saying, “From midnight tweets to drinking bleach, to tear-gassing citizens and staging a photo op, we knew Trump was out of control when he was president.”

Fact check: then-President Trump never mentioned bleach in off-the-cuff remarks he made regarding possible future COVID medications.
…at the time, Trump referenced an unspecified “disinfectant” that he was learning about which could be injected to combat coronavirus, and never mentioned bleach.
“I see the disinfectant that knocks it out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning?” the then-president said.
Note what he did not do: recommend that any American citizen take a disinfectant—bleach or otherwise.
The photo-op lie that De Niro references? Not true:
The “photo op” narrative was debunked a year after Trump’s infamous walk over to the vandalized St. John’s church, with an Interior Department Inspector General investigation finding that it was necessary to remove Black Lives Matter protesters from Lafayette park on June 1, 2020, in order to install anti-scale fencing to prevent White House grounds from being overrun.
The report found that Trump had coincidentally walked out into the cleared space hours after the plan to clear it had been decided on.
Perhaps the most egregious falsehood the former Goodfella tried to sell, however, was when he said that Trump wanted to “be a dictator, to terminate the Constitution.” Then audio played from a clip where Trump said, “If I don’t get elected, it’s going to be a bloodbath.”

Missing from this despicable Biden ad, however, is the fact that Trump was talking about a bloodbath in the auto industry—he was not referring to a bloodbath of American citizens.
They lied:

De Niro became a legend portraying brutish thugs who demanded that others bend to his will. Turns out that he wasn’t just acting.
This spot epitomizes the depths Biden will descend to hold on to power—he will lie through his teeth and use a deluded patsy like De Niro to sell his falsehoods. Neither of them, apparently, has any shame left.
