A viral TikTok hilariously described what a day looks like as a Texan, joking about how locals from the Lone Star State must “Remember the Alamo” and salute their favorite companies, like H-E-B. Texas comedian Ara Hollyday shared his TikTok last week, receiving more than 9.2 million views and over 1.8 million likes.
Hollyday started the video by jumping out of bed with his pajamas on, which included a set of cowboy boots. He said he starts his day off by gargling a shot of warm Lone Star beer, which is brewed and crafted in Texas. He added that he will then pledge allegiance to H-E-B, Blue Bell, Whataburger, and Buc-ee’s.
Once he’s done with the salute, Hollyday said he then changes out of his pajamas to his work wear, which also incorporates cowboy boots .
By 9 a.m., Hollyday joked about how he was already on his 18th glass of sweet tea, showing himself pouring many teaspoons of sugar into his drink. He added that by the end of the day, he will have consumed the Texas standard of 12 gallons of sweet tea. One of the funniest bits is how he spends four hours practicing his yeehaws.
After lunch, Hollyday said he takes a few minutes to Remember the Alamo. He also completes a daily task of jacking up his pick-up truck four inches (because Texas has a ton of those). Before he tucks himself in, he makes sure the stars at night are big and bright, connecting to the song called “Deep in the Heart of Texas” by Don Swander, June Hershey Hershey, and Ray Charles.
In the comments, many people agreed with his Texas activities, saying that it pretty much represents the state. H-E-B even commented and said, “That yeehaw is a 10/10 Partner.”
“Remember the Alamo part got me,” 90sbaby_brooklin said.
“HEB, blue bell, Whataburger and buc-ee’s are the Texas government branches,” Manny said.
