The woman was found early Tuesday morning in the parking lot of an apartment complex with a gunshot wound.
GARLAND, Texas — Garland police are searching for a suspect accused of shooting and killing a woman early Tuesday morning in the parking lot of an apartment complex, officials said.
Officials say officers were called to the complex in the 4500 block of Chaha Road just before 2 a.m. Upon arrival, they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound. She was taken to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
According to police, investigation revealed there was a disturbance in the parking lot between a man and two women, including the victim.
During the altercation, police say the suspect, 39-year-old Robert Ray Kelly, of Dallas, shot one of the women and fled the scene before police arrived.
Police say they believe this to be an isolated event at this time.
The identity of the victim has not been released yet.
