Girl shot while riding in back seat of car on Fort Worth highway, police say

 

The girl was taken to a hospital for treatment. Her injury was believed to be non-life-threatening, police said.

FORT WORTH, Texas — A girl was shot in the leg during a possible road rage incident in west Fort Worth early Wednesday, police said.

The shooting happened in the 2800 block of Horne Street, near Camp Bowie Boulevard and Interstate 30, according to a police news release. Officers responded and found the girl who was wounded.

Police said a vehicle had attempted to pass another vehicle on the highway. The vehicle then pulled up alongside the other vehicle and someone fired four shots, striking the girl who was riding in the back seat.

The girl was taken to a hospital for treatment. Her injury was believed to be non-life-threatening, police said. Officials have not released her age but confirmed she is under 18.

No arrests have been made in the shooting.
