Governor Abbott Appoints Three To Nursing Facility Administrators Advisory Committee

  

Governor Greg Abbott appointed Kimberly Posey, Ph.D. and Regina Franklin and reappointed Carla Smith to the Nursing Facility Administrators Advisory Committee for terms set to expire on February 1, 2031. The Committee provides the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services with recommendations for licensure sanctions and rule changes for the Nursing Facility Administrator Licensing Program.

Kimberly Posey, Ph.D. of Trophy Club is the director of Graduate Nursing and a practicing Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner at Texas Christian University. She is the president-elect of the Gerontological Advanced Practice Nurses Association and a member of the Texas Nurse Practitioners, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association, Texas Nurses Association, and the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties. She is the founding provider of the foot clinic at True Worth Place, where she continues to volunteer. Posey received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Texas Woman’s University, Master of Science in Nursing from The University of Texas at Arlington, Doctor of Nursing Practice from Texas Christian University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from William Carey University.

Regina Franklin of Bedford is the director of the Long-Term Care Administration at the Tarrant County College Trinity River Campus. She is a member of the Texas Healthcare Association, American Healthcare Association, American Society on Aging, Association of Death Education and Counseling, and the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated – Alpha Xi Omega Chapter. Franklin received a Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from Wichita State University, Master of Science in Community Health from Texas Woman’s University, and a Master of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry in Theology from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University.

Carla Smith of Midland retired with over two decades of experience working for Southwestern Bell Telephone and has spent over 35 years working in Christian ministry and volunteering in the community with various non-profits.
