H-E-B just opened its 15th store in North Texas

H-E-B on Wednesday opened its second location in Frisco, and 15th across all of North Texas.

FRISCO, Texas — Texas grocery company H-E-B went from only a handful of stores in the surrounding areas of North Texas to more than a dozen in a span of just two years.

And they keep adding more.

H-E-B on Wednesday opened its second location in Frisco, and 15th across all of North Texas. The newest store is located at 899 University Drive, at U.S. 380 and Farm Road 423. H-E-B previously opened a Frisco store at 4800 Main Street back in September 2022.

The news Frisco store is a 130,000-square-foot location that includes a True Texas BBQ restaurant and drive-thru, a pharmacy and gas station.

The Frisco stores join nearby H-E-B stores in Plano, McKinney, Allen, Mansfield and the Fort Worth Alliance area. H-E-B also owns six Central Market locations in North Texas and a Joe V’s Smart Shop in Dallas.

“With our second store in the Frisco community, our H-E-B Partners remain committed to earning the trust of our neighbors, providing them the shopping experience they’ve come to expect from us,” Greg Bennion, the store leader at the news Frisco location, said in a press release. “We look forward to serving even more customers in this dynamic and growing part of Texas.”

The San Antonio-based grocer has long operated stores, and owned land, in several areas surrounding North Texas, but it wasn’t until 2022 that H-E-B started to expand in the most populous areas of the Metroplex.

Kroger, Tom Thumb and Walmart have the most grocery locations in North Texas.
