DALLAS — On Friday, Dallas Fire-Rescue held a birthday party for a retired driver engineer who was celebrating turning 100 years old!
Johnny Rothfus worked for Dallas Fire-Rescue for 27 years before retiring in 1974, the department said in a Facebook post.
“Despite his age, we’re willing to bet he still could have driven the engine that came out to help with the celebration!,” they said.
Rothfus took photos with DFR employees and had a nice blue birthday cake.
“Thank you to everyone at Tribute Assisted Living & Memory Care for thinking to include us! Thank you to Chaplain Jackie Webb and the members of Dallas Fire Station 13 C-Shift for taking the time to let Johnny know how much a part of this family he is and will always be,” the department said.
Happy birthday from WFAA, Johnny! Congratulations on 100 years!
