Here’s how many travelers DFW Airport is expecting this summer, including this weekend

As we approach the unofficial start of summer this Memorial Day weekend, employees at DFW Airport are preparing for a large influx of travelers.

DALLAS — Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) is getting ready for what could be a record-breaking summer travel season.

This Memorial Day weekend, DFW says it is expecting around 1.5 million travelers to come through the airport. This is a 10 % increase from the same holiday weekend in 2023.

DFW says Friday, May 24, is expected to be the peak travel day of the weekend, bringing in close to 260,000 people to the airport.

Executive Vice President of Revenue Management and Customer Experience Ken Buchanan stated, “Our more than 300 volunteer Ambassadors and professional Airport Customer Experience Specialists are ready to assist travelers with advice, resources and everything needed for a smooth trip through DFW.”

DFW is anticipating about 25 million travelers to visit the airport from May through July. This breaks down to an average of 268,000 travelers per day.

In order to make the experience as smooth as possible, DFW recommends travelers sign up for a MyDFW account, so they can view tips and pre-book parking online.

As always, DFW also recommends that travelers arrive to the airport at least two hours prior to their boarding time.
