SAN ANTONIO – Earlier Saturday, San Antonio police said a woman was shot and rushed to a local hospital in critical condition after a Northwest Side homeowner believed she was a potential burglar.
In an updated report released just before 3 p.m. Saturday, SAPD is now saying that the homeowner is the suspect and was arrested and charged in connection with the shooting.

The shooting happened at around 11:30 a.m. in the 100 block of Bradford Avenue, not far from South General McMullen Drive and Culebra Road.
According to SAPD, the suspect — a yet-to-be identified 32-year-old man — was outside working on his car when an unknown female approached his property.
The suspect allegedly asked the woman what she was doing on his property, but police said she ignored him. Instead, the 45-year-old woman began walking toward the suspect’s front door.
Police said the suspect, who told authorities he believed she was a potential burglar, then told her that he had a gun, retrieved the weapon and told her to get off of his property.
After SAPD said the woman refused to leave, the suspect shot her once in the chest. The woman then ran to another neighbor’s house asking for help with her gunshot wound.
Authorities said she was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
San Antonio Police initially said the suspect was not under arrest and was only being detained for further questioning by investigators.
According to SAPD’s latest report, however, the suspect/homeowner is now facing an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge.
