FORECAST

Hope you’re having a great start to the weekend and are managing to stay cool!

It’ll once again be a toasty start to evening plans with temperatures falling through the 90s and eventually into the 80s after the sun goes down. A few wind gusts up to 20 mph will be possible after sunset as skies start to clear.

Sunday marks the official first day of fall as the autumnal equinox occurs at 7:44 am. It’ll still feel like summer, however, as highs climb into the mid-90s in San Antonio with the humidity making it feel like the upper 90s/near 100° for a few hours. A 10% chance for a stray shower can’t be ruled out, but the vast majority of us will stay dry.

A hot first day of fall is in store with highs in the mid-90s Sunday afternoon.

A few changes are in the forecast through the upcoming week as high pressure start to break down and push east.

A weak frontal boundary nears the Hill Country on Monday, potentially helping to spark up a few isolated showers and storms with better odds north and west of San Antonio. Depending on how far south this boundary can make it before stalling, a few areas could experience slightly drier air along with temperatures closer to 90°.

That boundary will keep isolated rain chances in the forecast through midweek, likely peaking on Wednesday at a 30% chance.

A reinforcing push of drier air looks to move in on Thursday, pushing that front through the area and leading to few slightly “cooler” and more bearable days. Still some fine-tuning to do in the days ahead, so check back in for more updates!

TROPICAL UPDATE

As of the late Saturday afternoon update in from the National Hurricane Center, the western Caribbean and southern Gulf of Mexico are still being flagged for potential tropical development over the next week.

Odds still favor any potential system tracking east of Texas, but we’ll keep you posted with any adjustments over the next few days.

Until then — have a great rest of your weekend and stay cool! ~ Mia

Tropical development is possible in the western Caribbean/Southern Gulf next week, but odds currently favor any potential system tracking east of Texas.
