HOT TAKES: Kamala Harris’ Ellipse Speech: ‘Closing Argument’ or Nail in the Coffin?

Kamala Harris, draped in a dark pantsuit with a white silk blouse, made her closing argument to the American people as her campaign reaches its final days. Her so-called “Turn the Page” speech was immediately overshadowed by her boss, President Joe Biden. As my colleague Sister Toldjah covered, Biden undercut his VP with this brain-dead commentary.

So much for Harris owning the news cycle. Between Trump and Biden, Harris will be lucky if they remember she’s running.

Seriously, there are political folks who have said that Joe Biden is not doing this to Harris deliberately. I have serious doubts that this is the case. While this article is supposed to be about the hot takes of her speech, what is dominating X-world is Biden calling half the country garbage. Way to foster unity. And even better way to knee-cap the coup candidate.

Yeah, no calculation here whatsoever.

But there was a speech, and Kamala Harris gave it, ably reading off the teleprompter with the proper degree of practiced passion and emotion. The content of the speech? A cobbling of “Orange Man Bad, I came from a middle-class family, Project 2025 is evil,” with the same warmed-over/stolen policies and lies she’s been peddling on the stump.

Minus any new accent. Kind of disappointing.

What was interesting was that Harris began her speech when loud sirens started to blare in the background. Also disappointing: They were not coming to take her away.

But not all felt the speech was a disaster. Kamala had her cheerleaders, along with the detractors.

Most of Harris’ rehashed moments were repeating the “Fine People” hoax, the debunked “Suckers and Losers” phrase, and claiming Donald Trump would use the military against people who disagree with him. Conveniently forgetting that her administration mounted a J-6 commission that jailed people for trespassing and is giving stiff sentences out to pro-life grandmas who pray in front of abortion clinics.

So much unity. You can feel it.

Fox News Senior Correspondent Bill Melugin summarized Harris’ lies remarks about the border.

Newsflash, Kamala. Last time I checked, Tren de Aragua and Haitian migrants are very scary to most people, and it doesn’t take a politician to convince them.

In typical Harris fashion, the speech lasted a little over 30 minutes, but even that was an exceptionally long time to say not much. It is no surprise that she is dodging a three-hour Joe Rogan interview.

Bob Hoge’s missus pretty much summed up the evening.

After tonight, let’s hope the majority of Americans agree with Roxanne and vote accordingly.
