How much does it cost to watch DFW’s ‘Big 4’ teams? We break it down.

One step knocks out two of them.

DALLAS — The Texas Rangers announced Wednesday that fans will be able to stream their games on Victory+ for a season-long, flat rate of $100.

The Dallas Stars already offer their games on Victory+ for free

Lucky for you DFW sports fans, the other two in the “Big 4” (Cowboys and Mavs) are also available to you for free after a one-time purchase of a digital antenna or “rabbit ears.” Numerous different antennas can be purchased online – as low as $15 to as high as $60 for better quality ones.

FOX, NBC, ABC and CBS all air NFL games, and the Cowboys are always over-the-air in this market in those cases. And with our new Mavericks partnership, you can watch all non-nationally televised Mavericks games (i.e.: ESPN, TNT) on KFAA (Channel 29).

What is the cheapest way to watch the Cowboys, Mavericks, Stars and Rangers?

The answer is simple here: Buy an antenna. That’s the cheapest option.

By doing so, three of the four are available to you completely free. The only subscription you’ll have to buy is the $100 plan for Rangers games. And again, that’s a one-time, season-long fee and you’ll be able to watch the entire 2025 season – including Spring Training.

In that case, your “all in” price of watching all four teams, all season long, would be as low as $115 (not including the rare Cowboys game on services like Peacock and Amazon Prime).

How much do all the subscription services cost combined?

Only two subscriptions serve DFW sports fans: one for the Mavs and the other for the Rangers.

There is no sense in DFW-based Cowboys fans to buy the NFL Sunday Ticket because the game is always blacked out due to being broadcasted over-the-air locally.

The Mavs do offer the same non-nationally televised games that air for free on KFAA on the team’s own streaming service, MavsTV. MavsTV costs $14.99 a month or $124.99 a season (includes first round postseason games not televised nationally).

Remember, the Rangers season-long deal is $100.

So, you’re looking at approximately $225, unless you choose to pay for a cable service in order to watch Cowboys games on FOX, CBS, NBC or ABC. Whatever your rate is for YouTube TV, or DirectTV or Spectrum or DISH would obviously be tacked onto that $225.
